November 1 - Orleans Democratic Town Committee will have its regularly scheduled monthly 

meeting on Wednesday starting at 5:00 pm in the Skaket Room of Orleans Town Hall, 19 School Road, Orleans. Guest speaker at this meeting will be from the Cape Cod Grandmothers Against Gun Violence. The Brewster Democratic Town Committee will meet from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Police Department, 631 Harwich Road, Brewster.

Colin Mickle, a lawyer and coordinator of the Immigration Resource Center at Community Action Committee of Cape Cod & Islands Inc., will be guest speaker. He will discuss safe communities. Dillon McCarthy, chairman of the Cape Cod High School Democrats, will address the work of younger party members.

Saturday, Nov. 11 8:30 am - the Orpheum in Chatham - Cape Downwinders is pleased to host Robbie Leppzer and his important film, Power Struggle, on the citizen fight to close Energy's Vermont Yankee. The film highlights the hard work of many Vermont and Massachusetts activists over years of dedication and the impact elected officials, including Governor Shumlin, had on the VY closure. Robbie has a second film in the works on our Pilgrim struggle, Nuclear Gamble, and will show a trailer of that project. A panel discussion will follow the film.
